Dear Friend,

Shy smiles, a small hand slipped into yours, bursts of laughter, a spontaneous jig, satisfaction that leaves you warm and glowing, memories time won’t erase, happiness that money cannot buy, giving back ... these are just some of the reasons cited by our volunteers, when asked what makes them give of their time and/or skills to CRY. This CRY Connect focuses on their valuable
(and valued!) contributions. Those of you who haven’t volunteered so far ... go on, give it a try!

The communities we work with in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh are reeling from the Dec 26 tsunami. To help them we have set up the CRY Tsunami Relief Fund , and will divert some of the proceeds from the CRY Telethon, scheduled for Jan 26, 2005, on Sony TV, to our tsunami relief efforts. As always, our emphasis is on children and the most underserved communities, and on long-term rehabilitation, not just immediate relief.

From all of us at CRY, best wishes for a very happy and successful 2005. Thank you for being an integral part of the CRY family. We look forward to your continued support for years to come.

In faith and goodwill,
The CRY Team.

CRY’s founder, Rippan Kapur, firmly believed that each one of us is gifted with resources
(skills, time, knowledge), has the desire to share these, and can do so within the context of our lives. CRY’s volunteer movement bears him out. Volunteers have been driven events like Bal Sawaal, Bol Jamoore, FACT Quiz, Bal Natya Utsav, and the Dream Schools program. More...
