CRY volunteer Vinay asked for a cup of tea in a tea stall near Nehru Place when he encountered a usual sight of a 10-12 year old child handing over his cup. It was his 30th day at work and he would earn 1200 Rupees for putting in 14 hours of hard work every day without any break. Here was a child who couldn't read or write… and yet, he was earning his first salary.
Every single day most of us come across many such children in our surroundings working hard at different places but we ignore them as if they are completely invisible to us. If you have an eye to see them and the desire to change their lives, join us and be the change maker to help them live, learn, grow and play
FIRST PAY DAY' is an interactive campaign to spread awareness that employing child labour is illegal and unjust. All you have to do is click photographs of working children you may come across in any part of Delhi, note down the place and date and upload on CRY facebook page. Selected photographs will be part of the dossier that will be presented to the policy makers working on the issue, at the end of the campaign.. These will also be showcased on the CRY facebook cover page.
