"I'm 18 years and taking a year's break between school and university. I have always loved the outdoors and often go kayaking and cycling as well as hiking. For a long time I have wanted to visit South America and especially to do the Inca Trail. I have been training for several months and can't wait for the trip." - says Aashray Lal.
Aashray is embarking on a 2 week trip into the heart of Peru. He will be spending two nights in the depths of the Peruvian rain forest where he will undertake a jungle survival course teaching him to live off of what the jungle provides. Then after two days of acclimatization at Cusco, he will trek up the famous Inca trail to the lost city of Machu Picchu. Surpassing heights of 14,000 feet and with night time temperatures as low as -6 degrees Celsius, it is an arduous four day hike.
Aashray's trek begins on April 8, 2007. Pledge your support or donate online towards CRY UK and its efforts for Child Rights.
