AGVS is working in 15 villages in Manika block of Latehar district, which is one of the remotest block of Jharkhand. AGVS has selected villages where there is minimum reach and the state has a very little focus in terms of development. Despite all odds using the learnings of the experiences over the years of working on child rights the organization is addressing the issues of children in the project areas. The focus of the project is on Education, Nutrition and Protection issues like migration and child marriage. Also the immunization rate has improved significantly, as these villages had no knowledge about immunization previously, have achieved 100% immunization now. With their efforts they have also mobilized other external stakeholders which include the media and local government authorities on children’s issues.
