  • Out of 177 total deliveries only 1 was home delivery and 2 infant deaths were reported
  • 94% children from 0-5 years were immunized through a door-to-door campaign
  • 7 ICDS centres have been strengthened. These centres were monitored by CBOs on delivery of services
  • 57 child labours were mainstreamed in schools
  • 18 child trafficking cases were identified and addressed

Janavani has been covering 4129 families, 5525 children of 0-18 years in the operational 15 slum colonies falling in Jawahar Nagar Panchayat, Ranga Reddy District, Andhra Pradesh. Janavani has adopted a rights based approach with a vision to bring about social change and is working in a complex situation like the Hyderabad slums. With support from CRY, it has succeeded in strengthening the Basti Sanghams and Basti Development Committees. Janavani’s involvement in organizing the urban communities, formed and strengthened the slum’s marginalized communities, children and the vulnerable groups in the project area. It has adopted different advocacy strategies and is able to highlight child rights violations and demand accountability from the state. It has initiated a process of strengthening the Community Based Organisers (CBO) formed at bastis by building their capacities on various Child Rights issues.
