MAS Project in Rajasthan

  • The Teacher to child ratio has improved
  • Girl child education status has improved and their education upto elementary level is the norm
  • The situation of child marriage has changed (Girl are now married at age of 15-17 years) as they are studying
  • Sex ratio in 0-6 years group is at 10:20

MAS is one of the CRY’s long standing partners in the state and has been associated for last 16 years. Over the period of association, MAS experience of child rights issues and its linkage with broader issues of tribal community of Bhils & Meena like forest land rights have enabled organization to have wider perspective on child centricity. The project staffs have developed a grip over advocacy and right based work and the organisation is leading the campaign on forest right in the region and till date, facilitating for land rights of forest dwellers tribal families. MAS has planned to go for an in-depth advocacy on the different child rights issue of education (Quality aspects & drop outs amongst the 6-14 age group), Survival rights (Immunization, Government Institutional Delivery, IMR and Malnutrition) and Protection Rights (Intervening in Child marriage and child labour issues along with child labour in the cotton growing fields).
