WHAT CHANGED

Margadarshi has been engaging with child centred approaches and institutions since its inception in 20 villages and 4 slums across 6 panchayats in Chittapur taluka of Gulbarga district, Karnataka. The area is critical with high infant deaths; malnutrition; only 53% children are getting enrolled in primary school; lack of high schools that are required; high dropouts ; high number of child labours in the cement industries and stone quarries. The project holder has been committed and dedicated to escalate and follow up the malnutrition related issues and developments in the district. He is very active in different networks and forums to address child rights issues. He has also contributed significantly towards improving the quality of management of many state-run homes in the district in the capacity of a Member/ Chairperson of the District Child Welfare Committee of Gulbarga.
