This National Vaccination Day, Help Immunize Children Against Deadly Diseases

Published on March 14, 2023

Access to quality healthcare and nutrition is crucial for the healthy growth and development of children. Unfortunately, many underprivileged children around the world do not have access to these basic necessities, leaving them vulnerable to a host of health problems. In order to address this issue, we, at CRY (Child Rights and You), are working tirelessly to ensure that every child has access to the resources they need to thrive.

One of the biggest challenges facing underprivileged children is malnutrition. Poor nutrition can lead to stunted growth, weakened immune systems, and deteriorated cognitive well-being. These effects can have a long-lasting impact on a child's health and well-being, potentially affecting their ability to succeed academically and professionally later in life. Providing these children with access to nutritious food and clean drinking water is therefore essential. It is time malnutrition in India is addressed by creating awareness and ensuring necessary resources are deployed.

Another major issue that also happens to be extremely critical for maintaining the health of underprivileged children is vaccination. Diseases like measles, polio, and hepatitis can be devastating for children who do not have access to vaccines. Fortunately, National Vaccination Day, commemorated on March 16, provides an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of vaccines and ensure that more children receive the protection they need.

38% of children in India do not receive complete immunisations (NFHS 4, 2016). By donating to organisations like CRY, you can help ensure that underprivileged children have access to the resources they need to stay healthy. Our on-ground teams work on ensuring the completion of immunisation schedules to manage preventable diseases through the government healthcare system.

In conclusion, health and nutrition are essential for the healthy growth and development of children, and it is our responsibility to ensure that every child has access to these basic necessities. Your donation for child care can support CRY and its initiatives. You can also avail of an income tax exemption under Section 80G. This National Vaccination Day, let’s give a safer and healthier future to India’s children. Support now!
