CHARDS established in 2006 has put immense efforts to bring about qualitative changes in the lives of children and in the community as well. Children being the focus of all activities and processes, the organization with support from CRY is focused on education, health, child marriage and child labour issues in the intervention areas. The organization also took up the challenge of building awareness amongst the community and particularly among women in the community through Self Help Groups on children issues, their present status and educated them on their responsibilities too. This year the organization initiated two bridge schools for dropouts and out of school children and the process yielded good results. The three preschools run by CHARDS provided playing and learning opportunities to those children and also led to linking those children to primary schools. At school level, the childrens collective was formed, where children got a platform to express their views and also shared their problems with respect to the schools.
