Matri Sudha Project in Delhi

  • 137 malnourished children have been registered in ICDS and are being treated
  • 6 dropout children have been re-enrolled in schools
  • Growth monitoring done of 163 children (0-1 yrs)
  • Separate toilets for boys and girls have been constructed

“MATRI SUDHA”, a voluntary organisation now registered as a school has started its activities in September 2001. The commitment and passion of the project holder towards the community, specially the children is one of the major factors for supporting Matri Sudha. It aims at working for the people in rural and urban areas in and around Delhi supported by the collaborative effort of people with deep sense of social commitment for the welfare of the children. It has also been successful in bringing officials from different departments at district level at one platform to discuss about convergence of schemes and policies for women & children.

The “MATRI SUDHA” team comprises of dedicated young social workers to help children against all forms of injustice and exploitation and engaged in providing relief and assistance to them. The main aim is to empower these children by making them capable of solving their own problems through community effort. The organization started its work on missing children in the area and organized Nukkad nataks on the issue of missing children. The organization though new to right based programming is willing to work towards realization of survival, development and protection rights of children.
