SNEHA Project for Child Rights issues in AP

  • Institutional deliveries have increased because of the awareness on immunisation, nutrition food, health checkups improvement of better services in PHC,SC,PDS.
  • Awareness has increased on the importance of birth certificates hence increased the issuance from 90% to 94% which ensures ensured identity rights of children.
  • Mainstreamed 50 drop out and 18 Child labour children in formal schools and retention to continue their education.

SNEHA initiated its activities on the issue of unionized unorganized labour and pollution across 36 villages of 14 Panchayats under Poosapatirega Mandal in Vizianagaram district, AP across all chemical plants. Sneha believes in the sangham concept and has made consistent efforts in initiating the village sanghams in the name of Village Child Protection Committee to address all Child Rights issues with a greater focus. With consistent support from CRY Serious efforts were put up by VCPC and cadre towards strengthening of Public Helath Centers, demanding new ICDS centers, new school buildings and improving the quality of mid-day meal scheme in the schools, the service delivery of ICDS and ANMs were also questioned and improved. VCPC members have started monitoring some of the ICDS centres for positive outcomes.
