SPREAD is working in 12 villages in the Lamataput block in two Gram Panchayats (Gunaipada & Godihanjar) of the Koraput district in Orissa and focussing the issue of development of the tribal population. The tribes which pre-dominantly populate the Koraput region are Kandhas, Sauras, Sabras, Bhottoda, Bhumiyas, Parajs, and Gadabas. SPREAD as an organisation has initiated an approach to design its intervention with focus on health and malnutrition and has been able to make some significant impact towards addressing the issue of malnutrition. Over the past several years it has also tried to mobilize people for addressing their livelihood issues to make a sustainable change in the area where it works.
