Help families and children affected by Assam floods survive

Assam is battling devastating floods that have displaced families, damaged homes and livelihoods, and disrupted access to essential services. Even as floodwaters begin to recede in some areas, over 7 lakh people remain affected, and thousands of families continue to need support.

For children, the impact goes beyond the immediate loss of food and shelter. Displacement can affect their health, safety, education and emotional well-being.

CRY is working on the ground to support children and families

CRY’s on-ground team is working with partners and local systems to help affected communities through the immediate crisis and the recovery that follows.

So far, we have reached 2,470 flood-affected households and 1,780 children in some of the worst-hit areas.

With your support, we can reach more families across three critical areas:

🥫 Emergency Relief

• Coordinating with district disaster management systems to help relief reach affected communities effectively
• Facilitating the distribution of dry rations to help families meet immediate food needs
• Supporting access to hygiene kits to help prevent water-borne diseases

🩺 Healthcare Support

• Connecting pregnant women and children to primary healthcare services
• Supporting the rebuilding and equipping of health centres so essential services can resume

🧒 Safe Spaces and Support for Children

• Creating safe spaces and facilitating psychosocial support and counselling for children
• Providing educational materials to help children catch up on learning disrupted by the floods
