We, at CRY - Child Rights and You, believe that for real and lasting change, root causes have to be addressed - like insufficient schools, poverty, marginalization, migration etc -- situations that exploit and abuse children. CRY works with 2,500 marginalised communities across 18 states in India to ensure that children, their families and the communities they live in can enjoy their rights. Over the past 28 years we have reached out to 1.5 million children in over 2500 villages and slums across 18 states in India, ensuring them of opportunities to live, learn and play. In the recently concluded BMC elections, CRY garnered support from individuals for the ‘Child Rights First' charter. Signed charters will be presented to the elected councillors urging them to make child rights a part of their agenda and motto More.... CRY at the Marathon The Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2007 was a great opportunity for people to raise their voices for children. About 400 Child Rights advocates, individuals and corporates alike, ran the Marathon held on 21st January, 2007 More.... CRY and Penguin Books collection of 86 favourite poems by eminent Indian writers called "A Poem for CRY” is out in stores. The collection of poems was released by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in Delhi and by Mr. Amitabh Bachchan in Mumbai. FACT 2006 The annual street theatre festival, Bal Natya Utsav was held for 6th consecutive time this year. The annual event celebrating the spirit of childhood was held at Dilli Haat from Nov 11 – 14, 2006. From workshops to plays – Bal Natya Utsav had it all!
