Hi........your orgnization is good work for child

Amit Ahluwalia
While watching the news tonight, I just happen to watch a ghastly display of brutality of 2 policemen towards street children. Policemen were shown manhandling a very young girl child, beating her and pulling her hair while she cried. I have no clue what the reason was being told but it was disturbing enough to put it across as this note on your site. Though the policemen have been suspended, this should not be the end of it. This might not be the only or the last such case that we see but then since this has surfaced, I believe that through your organisation it should be voiced that those specific policemen be dealt with appropriately and with public knowledge. Also, in the recent closing ceremony of 5C, where Hon. CM was the chief guest, she mentioned about an incident where a group of girls was rescued from a flat in Pitampura area. What happened to that? Somehow there are breaking news that we see but no follow-up to those.

As my profession demands I was engaged in a achool situated on North East India. I saw the children over there from very close. They are very far from limelights and all this media. The students over there in majority are very meritorius and laborious. They know several of handicrafts making and the warm hospitalities. I saw them, but, in between the schooling ages they are dropping from schools as they are coming from severe poor condition. They are bound to to do work to assist the family to run with minimal facilities. Some times they are joining to the terroist organisations and learning how to shoot a gun instead of higher education. I personally feel that if they are properly trained they will be our indespinsible part of India and will serve our nation more than us.

arpu batta
in my opinion child labour should strictly prohibited.the children working as child labourers should be imparted vocational training by government instead of spending more money on opening new institutes.government is spending more on on new things then investing in what is available.human resource in india if developed properly can go a large way in making india a developed nation by 2020

I AM REALLY SURPRISED AS A CHILD THAT THE CHILDREN OF MY AGE ARE NOT SEND TO SCHOOLS. I WANT THAT EVERY CHILD SHOULD GO TO SCHOOL AND SHOULD BE EDUCATED. PEOPLE ARE NOT LETTING CHILDREN GO TO SCHOOL. INSTEAD, THEY WANT TO MAKE THEM WORK FOR THEM. CHILD LABOUR SHOULD NOT BE THERE IN OUR COUNTRY. CRY , I THINK , IS A GREAT ORGANIZATION AS IT TEACHES AND NURTURES STUDENTS. IT TEACHES US THAT IF CHILDREN ARE NOT SEND TO SCHOOL THEY CANNOT BE LEARNED. I WANT THAT EVERY CHILD SHOULD BE EDUCATED IN OUR COUNTRY. PEOPLE NOWADAYS ARE FORGETTING ABOUT CHILD LABOUR. EVERY CHILD SHOULD HAVE HIS RIGHTS TO GO TO SCHOOL. CRY IS A HELPER AND IT MAKES PEOPLE AWARE ABOUT THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILDREN OF OUR COUNTRY. CRY MAKES US AWARE OF THE GOVERNMENTS CARELESSNESS TOWARDS THE CHILDREN OF OUR COUNTRY.THE COUNTRY IS NOT YET AN INDEPENDENT ONE. OUR COUNTRY CAN BE BETTER ONE IF CHILDREN ARE MORE CARED FOR. ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS OPEN OUR MINDS. WE HAVE TO CARE A LITTLE MORE FOR CHILDREN. PEOPLE MAKE THESE CHILDREN BEG AND GET MONEY FOR THEM. IN LITERACY, IF WE ARE LANGUISHING AT THE BOTTOM THEN WE CAN RISE UP MUCH HIGHER. THE LITERACY RATE CAN RISE HIGH. I WANT YOU ALL TO ADD MASTER AND MISS IN THE TITLE DROPDOWN LIST SO CHILDREN CAN ALSO GIVE ADVICE ON THIS TOPIC

Ashwin Iyer Seshadi
Indeed i love the CRY initial video....watching kids play... I have nothing much to donate to CRY now but yes i do have plans in future. I am starting a business and a margin of my profit is going towards an aged home foundation and a margin will go to CRY.

First of all,i would like to congratulate you all for all the work you have been doing for the past years.I am a college going student in nagpur.I always felt that the children living below the poverty line need plenty of help.In my college ,there are some children ;who constantly beg for money when we students stand and gossip in the backside of the college . Some people gave them alms and some like me, just ignored them. I thought that if I gave them money, I would encourage them to beg and that wouldnt help them in the long run. But now I have realised that just ignoring them wouldnt help.We students have to take the initiative and do something for these children. We have to teach them and make them self reliant.Youth isnt only about fun and frolick but also about taking the responsibility of the country as well as the nation . So I want to ask you how should I help these children and what are the basic necessities that I would require .

Any building that stands touching the sky heights need a strong base. For any country, any society or any family even, the future is good & prosperous for the people belongs to that country/society or family if the young ones are well nurtured. Nurturing can be in terms of physique or mind. So to have bewutiful thoughts in the society in future it is must that the young ones of the socity should be given the opportunity to groom accordingly. The basic thing that society should focus for the children are to their physical health and the basic education to almost all of them.I believe in any society if the Childrens are physically healthy and mental developed.I believe any country's GDP growth is worthless if the expenditure by any country in this area is notsignificant. I believe there should be separtae independent government organisation should be made so as to work in this area in collaboration with NGOs like CRY & UNICEF. Not only this the capable citizens of the country should be educated about giving their contribution to this. Also the NGOs should also know their focused area. Any rural area of the country should be focused becuase the rootcause is there and the major young suffering population is living their only. Also the professionals like Medcal Practiotioners should particaipate and give their valunteer contributiion in this area.

abhay babbar
50% of World's population is young and 26% of Indian population is party below the age of 25. India is right on track for domestic growth and prosperity. Society and Newspapers talk about 'Inclusive Growth'. This directly paves way for children development & growth, as they are going to be instrumental in all our future endeavors. The situation is critical as on one hand, goverment of India (GOI) is trying to curb on population by introducing various kind of community lead programs for birth control and on the other, we realise the fact that manpower is the biggest asset for any organization. Therefore, I strongly beleive that the only factor that will support India in realizing its dream towards, universal growth and properity is that of building on India's children. We need to take active steps today if we want to lead the future tomorrow by honing our children skills as the quantity will go down and quality will of prime facia.. Thanks

it was surprising,i was travelling by train n beside my coach was a family.they had a son n a daughter.the son was a notorious kid he did something his sister was slapped n nicely scolded, this went on for 2 days.then i came to know the girl stayed in the village with her aunt whereas the son was with the parents and the girl was not being educated.i feel our country is growing by leaps and bounds economically but then why dosen't anyone care about the weaker sections of the society?we need to make people understandthat there is only one caste the caste of humanity, one religion of love, one language of the heart and one god who is present everywhere for him all are equal.otherwise it is no use our country growing and reaching greater heights economically.

I am a very ordinary human being..n like most of the other people am interested in helping the poor n the needy... but the prob. is how to... earlier i used to give money to helpless beggars or so.. but now i feel..its not the right way to help... i hav been thinking a lot but doing nothing , to b honest.... but, this is a right platform i guess... ill try my best to do the needful..if i cud support a child's education..ill b privileged.. i m looking for a job, as soon as i catch one... ill surely get back to u... thanks.. I appreciate what cry does for chidren. But along with providing means to the deprived, cry should also look into the aspect of family planning among the poor. I have seen a couple living on footpath in my locality literally in between the garbage and having not less than 8 children. What life will that couple give to their children who dont even have anything to eat. I feel such parents are big culprits to the society. They give birth one after the other just to leave their children on footpaths and roads.

Arundhathi Reddy
Children in our country- in millions-are out of schools and in work even after 58years of independence. The food we eat has children's sweat and toil. The cloth we wear groans with their suffering. The shelter we have is scorched with child's labour.Invisible little hands are seen at work on farms,in quarries and mining,at shops,in homes and apartment complexes, hotels, dhabas, automobile workshops and on garbage dumps as street vendors, living in squalor, misery and poverty. They are on streets unprotected and in trafficking living a precarious life. They are every where,if only we cared to see and notice. Children's Voices are not heard;Their fears and anxieties are not recognized. As a responsible citizen of India let us do something for these children to get out of work and into school....

I am very glad 2 know about your organisation ,with the irresponsible administration what we are witnessing i think we people have to help ourself's and others . i would love to be part of our activities and lend my hand in making the country a much better place to live.

I LAUD CRY'S EFFORTS IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. THE FUTURE OF ANY CHILD DEPENDS ON HER PRESENT. LET'S DO ALL WE CAN TODAY AND SEE HER BLOSSOM TOMORROW.

I have written a poem, which might be used to portray the situation that children are in the fireworks Industry, please feel free to use this poem in any advs., leaflets, pamphlets etc. which might serve a cause. It is woven around a fictitious character Ribhu. Ribhu. His Name was Ribhu Born into a poor man's shed This is the story of the life he led. He would have been 10 years old by now Born to play, have fun, and see the sun, Run through the green fields, Play with the river water Born to be free But he had something else in store At the age of 8, poverty; led his father To show him the door Wandering through the village lands He came in front of the place Where hundreds of his kinds Were doing something in complete Haze Playing with some powder, putting it into red papers, Using threads to bind them together Someone caught him watching & then what followed was a bizarre tale He was chained by a shackle And made to work day and night Till his bones crackle His eyes went watery, His skin burnt His lungs filled with gun powder His cries becoming louder and louder Through the pain for 2 years, His bony structure finally gave away, Bending down to this barbarism He was butchered by this mechanism And here we are Burning those crackers Making merriment, enjoying the flare Unknown of Rhibu, whose soul, is in a silent prayer – Leave them alone, Leave them at peace My friend’s are not meant for Gun Powder, Ponder this please….

Underpriveledged children are the worst suffers in our country. They must get the equality they deserve. Child labour must be abolished and education must be a must until the age of 14. One can do very little for all the children in the nation. But, if we stand united with one common goal we can acheive what we want. We can eradicate child labouring-the unpardonable sin.

Hats off to an organisation like you!! i am a very common person but really feel desperate on the filthy and inhuman treatment alloted to the little kids;i fail to digest the validity of this practiced and discrimination that is practiced so honestly, especially,i feel in india. This may be due to the fact that today the teeming millions of india are going corrupt, morals of people are declining, they hardly stand anywhere in terms of social activities, except for the very few active associations who are really working for mankind.and the few are among those who lack any sort of initiative to jump into this field. what i've observed is that in other countries still people value life nd are not that dumbfounded against children's oppression.chilren infact need to be overprotected nd valued with every possig\ble priveledge coz they only are going to hold country's future.but why shall thay work for their country which has not even allowed them to live a life of a normal human, worse than a waif animal. i strictly feel thatthough india being a democratic country, the govt. here is for already capable people nd not for a poor or a undeveloped one.;govt is after making delhi an absolute heveanly place to live in but its really pitiable that what's being done for o naked child at a roadside in the terrible scorching heat or itching ice cold winters.who is insuring life of children who are everyday becoming victims in the hands of bloodthirsty wheels. i feel we 'll have to work practically nd implement the policies which die away on paper due to lack of coordination.we need to start directly from slums nd uplift them achieve their basic needs.their are so many other deppressing activities they have to face, the foremost cause being their poverty.so we actually need to work so as to overcome this factor.the peolpe don't speak but i feel that child oppression nd neglegence in every minor way gives a soil for other social ,political, human evils nd crimes to cultivate as chilren get embued with sheer frustation ,wrath, rebelism nd unwantedness since their childhood,..nd it's quite obvios enough.

There have so many incidents or rape, sexual abuse of girl child. I surfed through the website. Didn't see any projects to help the victims of such disastrous act in Mumbai. I am not familiar with the statistics as to how many girl child have been raped and abused untill now, but I'm sure these incidents would be happening every day, every hour out if which If some are reported, provoked by media, gets justice; Else all the others goes unnoticed. I've joined CRY. I'm ready to Volunteer & Donate for this cause.

I Strongly believe that "Education" can change a child's life to a great extent....I had started off at a young age of 12-Teaching the kids deprived of education and money! I would love to impart all my knowledge to kids and educate them within my capabilities.I am a 22 year old Engineer and i believe i can surely change at least "ONE" child's life!I expect to be informed about any such opportuinities covered under CRY! ~Aarti

Each Child born has the right to Food / Shelter / Clothing. Then comes education. Atleast the Basic one. I would continue my support to the movement and would definitely try to generate awareness in my Workplace / Neighbourhood / Relations for getting in more and more resources to help Young India. Thank you CRY for working on different projects for Underpriviledged Children.

As we all say Todays children are tomorrow's Citizens. As an Indian we all need to joint our hands to work against all forms of child labor, child labor. we need to make sure that fruits of Child Rights will be accessable to all children in india and over the world in future.

Hi I have been a stong advocate plus a donater to CRY since about 1983 .In those days it used to operate from a building in warden road in mumbai which is where I am originally from.I am now a british citizen since last 22 years and I still passionately believe in the organisation and am really proud of all the work that is being done. Please continue the good work and people like me will do whatever we can to help.

I share my personal experience what i feel everyday on my construction site.In my opinion, i think,in our business at every moments, childhood and child rights are died. But i do nothing for them, but,i want do something. Sometimes i cry alone, that,i can"t do anything,

well..it actually makes one's heart CRY..wen one sees a total cold blooded people around..this true thing shows up when there are some beggars..innocent children..sometimes women too..around them i dont know how n what i should write here but i just want to share my dream..my dream is to Educate the Beggars..to make them realize that they need to Earn!Earn Self-Esteem and Then Earn Money, with their own competence, deligence, and knowlegde they should be in search of some respectable job instead of some Kind Hand..i want to change their attitudes..i want them to breakthrough this chain..this banal tradition of beggin n living..i want them to understand what is believing and achieving ..what in life they are missing that they can achieve just by thinking.. say by changing their tought process.. i never give a single penny to beggar because i dont want to promote or encourage their begging..instead i wud love to help and support them..if with their self-respect they would try to earn their bread! in life nothing is impossible you just have to think the possiblity and a way will show up!

a message to all: we as a family have to bring some courage and support to childrens who needs help just like we do in our early stages.join and set minds to do good for the future of society which belongs to us.

devanshh kaushiik
life is a dream. everyone has a right to dream. everyone has a right to feel pampered, to feel loved. God sends us to this earth to show dreams to those who have lost their hope....who feel like standing alone in the cruel desert of life. showing dreams and hope to someone is the biggest virtue. people fight for petty things, but they forget that love is the only thing which stays even after their death. we have become so selfish. today we care only for us. we have become zombies. we have strted counting eveything in terms of money. but what about those who are so emotionally starved that they lose all hope? giving love to such beings might not give any monetary satisfaction, but it satisfies the soul...the soul which gets bruised in this spiteful world. then we curse our god for making our lives so appaling. it is us who are to be blamed.

Dwaipayan Bhattacharjee
One generation plants the trees; another gets the shade. so indeed it is very important to shape every child's life as they are the future. Great songs are composed which makes us nostalgic .....as the stage never returns.....so make life beautiful from the bud......good work keep smiling

I am interested in becoming a volunteer for work with dalit children in Panjab. But I cannot register with your organisation because the registration process does not include India in the list of countries. Why is this? More important - do you know of any projects currently operating in this area?

Children are tommorrow's citizens. They need to know what their right towards the country seems like. their contribution to the country is the major asset of the country. Children must be provided education and advise at the right time as they grow up and teach you more that what we've taught them. Child abuse and child labour is the most cruel thing that can ever happen in a country. unfortunately it mostly happens with female children. we the people of the country have to protect these citizens for a bright and enlightened world. Children apart from being protected from the cruelty happening around must also been taught the values and ethics of life. My suggesstion is to encourage more camps and exhibitions exhibiting the art and things sold at CRY and also instruct the volunteers working in leading companies to help in selling those goods quite often. This money is going to make a major difference in the eyes of the children. We need to work today and the children wil take care of us tomorrow. we need to bring the talents out and they will make us proud tomorrow. You people are doing a remarkable job!! all the best in all what you do and im happy im one of the volunteers. i have registered myseld with world vision too. pl feel free to call me when im needed. i love children

In regards to Child Care CRY has been a leading force for years. India is the nation which has the potential to be the World leader but sadly our leadersare unable to foresee the valuable resources that India possses in the children of today. The youth of this country are the real treasures and we need to remove the dirt and dust that has gathered around them. The CRY website is a library of knowledge and experience that has been filled by vetrans's of the freedom struggle for children. Keep Riding.

CRY has done a remarkable job in uplifting the downtrodden& enablingd up on their own.The need to provide basic necessities toall the children to harness their mpotential cannot be over emphasized.I'll consider myselfate to get involved in whatever way ican, inthis endeavour to build a healthy.prosperous&happy India.

Dear all, I am delighted for what you people are doing for the under priviledged children. But you see you people are having only one project and that too in collaboration in Orissa. This state has neglectd so much by you that even the spelling in the drop down box is faulty. Anyways, you people also provide the address of the local CRY Centres all across India, so that people willing to help can reach you directly. I would request you to please inform me about any CRY centres in Bhubaneswar-Orissa. Thanks, Debashish

What it is to be blind I am not blind I can see, The pain of those whom darkness surrounds Their world is not bright As there it is empty of any light. Far away from the joys of life they can only feel the beauty And not appreciate They can form the images in mind But cannot judge They are surely chosen one As god is with them All the time To show the path to these visually impaired And shower his kindness on these innocents. Those who can see should help them Love them, care for them Should make them see the world from our eyes We should not make them cry And support them that we are behind god To Hold them if they ever fall.

Diksha Ohri
The Innocent Faces that I see every morning to noon sitting at the gate of the temple near my house, the slums, and the red Lights reflect a distinct world that lacks all brightness and jest for life like ours. who has time to pay them any heed when one is eager to go for a stumptuous meal or for shopping. Just filling their empty boels with some change out of pity may satisfy some of us for a moment. But after this brief period of sympathy we feel secure and happy in our own world thanking lord for all good god has bestowed us with. This is what 50% of the elite Indian Population contributes and is concenred about. We are far away from the grief that overshadows these destitutes. India has come past 75 years of Independence. We have realized this but without analyzing the graph of our improvement in this sector which scores poorly. Practices like Child Labor, buying and selling of young girls, begging are crimes we commit on the little ones in whose hands lies the future of our Country. Recently about thirty children aged between 8 to 13 Yrs. were rescued from a Delhi Factory. Sources of imformation reveal that most of them were forced to work in order to substantiate the income of their family as they were the sole earners. In return of 15hrs. a day slogging they recieved beating and not even a single penny. Childhood in India is not only painful but is dealt with utter insensitivity. There is no one for implementation of laws catering to the needs of poor children. No one is willing to take the responsilbility except Some good Organisations Like CRY. There are a number of unaccountable atrocities inflicted on the young ones whose innocence is lost somewhere in this world full of corruption and cruelty. We tend to forget our duty towards society and its betterment. And CRY makes us realise the significance of working towards this goal. Personally I have come across a number of houses in my neighborhood who keep children between 10 to 15yrs. of age as servants and maids. They are made to slog 24hrs. a day just for few bugs at months end. ITS DESPICABLE THAT LITERATE PEOPLE LIKE US SELDOM REALIZE THE SIMILARITY BETWEEN OUR CHILDREN AND THOSE OF GOD WHO ARE DESPERATELY IN NEED OF OUR HELPING HAND. THREE CHEERS FOR 'CRY' WHICH MAKES EFFORTS TO ATLEAST BRING A CHANGE IN IT.

The topic raised here is really possess alarming demostration in it. I really appreciate that now a days people are being more and more concious for sake of humanity. I do concern for those women that have no shelter and food to protect themselves. Today on 16-07-2009 while going to my workplace in C.P. I saw a girl of about 20 Years of age she was badly dressed and even nacked from down back. It is really a great joke for the Government that show off their efforts for rights and equal level of women in india or arround and at the same place near to their V.I.P area (Palika Bazar - Revoli subways) these innocent girls are raped every night and who knows that what is being done with them every night in this horrible and cruel city. Govt. says we are progressing our growth rate in the time of ressesion is better than other countries but at same time why Govt. is not able to provide just mere basic facilities or just food for these people. One more thing that make it worst that we find them having drugs openly and don't know above the same subway on road Traffic Police is appointed, Security Police is appointed and don't know how someone comes and sell them the drugs like Smake, etc.... On the other hand when someone try to raise his voice to equality, equal opportunity, and raise even against the worst and degrading policies the same blind police pretend to be the Holy Protector of the LAW.........At last my hope is to bring peace forever for all, food for all, equality for all, respect for all, love for all, and at that time no FALSE LAW will remain because that will be THE SATYUGA..right back again ... where people do their duties whole hearted for the sake of goodness, spread love, respect and love of GOD to all..... I really dont have words. Any words of appreciation are really small for an organisation like CRY. Hats Offf to Rippan Kapoor. I just read abt him, and really no words. All have dreams, but very few people have the courage to make their dreams true. Feeling sad about and pitying everybody does, but to strive for making a change its very difficult. And CRY has done that. Its not about dvelopment of children, its much more.. about restoring ones childhood, its innocence..which is the right of evry child.

hi, i want to complain that, here in mvj college of engineering, the count of child labor is about10+, & they are employed for canteen & hostel mess cleaning, my heart feels very much for those kids who should be playing & enjoy their school days, but here the kids are cleaning the tables & plates, this college collects around Rs.5000 in favour of its trust from each student, to promote education but they itself employ these kids, the governent should take immediate action on this matter, the address of the institution is, mvj college of engineering, near hope farm(ITPL), channasandra, Bangalore-560067 i feel if action is taken immediately, that would give hapiness in their lives, (this college people are very brilliant in hiding things, just visit the hostel mess & cafetaria during respective timings like breakfast, lunch, snacks & night dinner hours, only at those time the child labors can be found, also visit without informing to the college authorities, thank you, regards, santosh

i was on a trip to andaman with my family when i saw a boy of 7 to 8 years trying to sell bhel on the boat. till the date, i really never thought of them. i had everything still wanted more ,a nice cell phone. a couple of relatively rich background was with us. 1 packet of bhel cost rs. 4 and they bought 5 packets. they asked the boy about total which he said rs.12 and they paid it with utter dishonesty. the boy was much more younger than my brother ,who grumbled when he had to go without a nice car. but the boy was moving in the sun from one place to another in order to search for customers. my heart cried but i could do nothing much that time. but that incident had a impact in life. i joined this group to do something for the children and mostly for myself.

I have been taking coffee from this place near CP for quite sometime now. Most of my evenings when I take-off from office, I go to this place n have my special cup of coffee. I really like this child (must b a teenager) who serves coffee there. You can hear him singing bollywood songs most of the time. His profile has always gone unnoticed. May be because, I am concerned more about my coffee n relaxing rather than carying who this child is and what he is doing there serving coffee. Last evening, it occured to me that so many children like him are working extra (usually, in evenings) to earn money so that they can go to school in the morning. Yet there are many others who work endlessly n never get the opportunity to go to school. I know of this another orgn. like Cry working towards providing education to such children who cannot even dream of going to a well-to-do school. I am talking about The Alpha Foundation in Andhra Pradesh. Hats off to NGOs like these.

The other day, I was sad to see a girl, entering her puberty, wearing clothes that were torn at wrong places. My heart pleaded for her. I went to the market and bought 2 fresh pairs of entire girl garments and decent clothes. came back and gifted her the same. Next day, I again saw the same girl in the same torn dress... thought, maybe tomorrow she would wear the new dress... again next day... torn dress... I stopped by and asked her - how come she was still wearing the same old torn dress when now she surely has the new set. I was shocked at the reply - 'Mam, If we are properly dressed, who would give us alms? we should LOOK poor to survive in this business.' !!!!! Should our country encourage small children to get into such BUSINESS? Cant government / NGO's actually put a STOP to these chidren from begging/ being used for begging?

Karthikayen Balasubramanian
Sight of children begging near car parks, poor kids crying for milk, torn clothes worn by them always been a disturbing event for me. I give money then and move. As a gifted citizens of India, I feel its our duty to help the underprivilege. I am a student in Bangalore. I came to know about CRY recently through my parents. I would like to donate to CRY, and would like to spread the awareness to my friends.

I admire all those persons who have dedicated their lives towards ensuring the future of our future i.e. the future of our Children. This is especially because, I myself am able only to financially contribute to the cause. More than anything else, what the children need is our time, love, warmth and affection - and hence those who are able to provide these, are great people. Hats off to all of you, tireless volunteers.

Kumar Subramaniam
Child rights seems noble, but also a bit esoteric. What exactly do you mean? Do you act as catalysts to create local movements to make communities aware of their rights? And if so, what can I as an individual do to participate in such an act while also carrying on with my job etc.? I can and do contribute money, but what else? Thanks kumar

Good Work CRY!!! I really like the work is being carried out. Childrens are future of our country. One can be Prime Minister, other Scientiest or could be a next best human being our next door in our country. You guys are helping them to change children's attitude towards development. Today everyone have mobile, why dont you start collecting funds from that side. For instance send "xx" number of amount to xxxx sms number. Lets role the world and let them know only prayers are not important, we have do somethng.

Very much inspired by the change in the definition of CRY...... I feel from the beginning that charity wont help much in achieving the desired results It will be like a pain balm.. We have so many funds and rights for children. We are giving so much of our money but its not being provided for the people.. So we have to fought for the rights ... I feel this is the time to stand for the children in achieving their rights... Thats true...... We have to find out the permanent solution for their problems... Kiran Verma

CRY, presents a wonderful platform for people who wish to see that each and every child in India should get educated. With the help of oganisations such as CRY, India's bleak future seems to be getting a ray of light. When I see young kids begging on the streets, I feel very sorry for them. When u and me and so many people are getting a good standard of living, education, these kids are deprieved of even the most basic needs. The question is how to persuade these kids to come forward and make them understand that education is the key to a fair living and not begging. I have a young boy working as a servant in a tea stall near my office. How should I help him rehabilitate his life? I want an answer!

The time when i was a final year student..as a part of our academic practice we used to pick children in the age group of 6-8 years for dental treatment purpose. When it was around 1' o clock in the noon, we observed some kind of querry and dicomfort on these childrens' faces. As they were all from the nearby government school, they had the mid-day meal programmes. They were all skeptical what if they miss their food..?? That was the day me and my colleagues actually realised the worth of food and the associated poverty. Henceforth we made it a point that , when ever we picked up kids for dental treatment we dropped them back before their meal program and also made sure we made them eat sufficiently before and after treatment procedures at the expense of our pocket money as we wernt earning too. Atleast with this bit..we freinds felt happy at the end of the day. "every bit counts my dear frens-LETS STAND UP UNITED" we can make a difference

Congratulations to whole CRY team for doing the efforts and helping us to fight with this deep-rooted problem of our country and i think the time has come for all of us to take initiative.I personally will try to do my best in this regard and would looking up a oppurtunity to teach your children .I will be privilege and i m looking for this noble cause.

School and college children are pressurized by parents and teachers to study all the time. Children due to this kind of pressure tend to drop out, show poor performance in in studies, even contemplate suicide. It is a humble request to please urge partents and teachers to all children to play, relax, be spiritually inclined towards GOD Almighty and never to compete with each other.

MOHAN BHORE
Children are the future citizen of our country. So it is our duty to look after them, protected them and provide them better care for their physical, mental and Psychological growth. In a welfare state it also becomes the duty of ours to protect children, have welfare programmers for them through different schemes and policies, So that they are not exposed to any sort of hazards which may damage their growth in any respect which ultimately the political, social as well economic growth of society.

Recently I saw the documentary on 'Female Foetocide' and I was shocked to see the truth. For a moment I could not believe my own eyes. We indians pray an innumerable versions of deities everyday. One should see the atmosphere and the joy of each individual on a Durga, Lakshmi or a Saraswati puja but we fail to see the same joy and the happiness when a Durga, Lakshmi or a Saraswati is born at a household. Years back my mother told me how my aunts and grandparents reacted when me and my sisters were born and after my father passed away we were chased out of our father's house because three girls were of no good to them. That happened 20 years back what pains me most is that instead of rising above all these and treating both the gender equally we have become more inhuman and more ignorant. If this is called modernisation, I am sad to be a part of this modern Indian. It's high time we all realise the importance of both the gender and stop this inhuman activity. For she is a mother, daughter, sister and a friend. She is a wonderful creation of God, don't kill her in the womb.... because she has a life and she too breathes...let her live and do the wonders.

STOP CHILD SLAVERY Most of the domestic help employed by the citizens of India are children below the age of fourteen. A Child Labour Act was initiated in 1986 which bans children under the age of fourteen from working. However, official Indian statistics show that 13 million children in India are made to work as slaves. These children are exploited economically, often physically and sexually. They are literally forced to do heavy work, work overtime, and are deprived from food, water, rest and schooling. They are made to work in unhealthy and perilous conditions. But why do children work? is what you will ask. Most children work because their families are poor and their labour is necessary for their survival. Children are often employed and exploited because they are cheaper to hire, in comparison to adults. For many children school is not an option as their parents find education too expensive and irrelevant. As a result most children grow up to be unskilled adults doing poorly paid jobs and in turn expect their own children to take up laborious jobs at a very young age like they had. Child slavery is a problem larger than most people are willing to admit. We need many more voices crying out for it's end. We need education. We need to open our eyes to the truth. We need to act because only actions speak louder than words. STOP CHILD SLAVERY.

According to me if one spare his own time to the education of a child; we can make a number of lives happy. My personal experience was to make a boy of fifth standard to be successful at his board exams. He was without any resources of money. My mother is a government school teacher. Once she told me that one of the students in her class will spoil her class result in board exams. I asked to pay more attention towards him which she denied saying that he is duffer and can not study anymore beacuse of funds problem. I asked to help my mother in this matter. I took this challenge and contacted the boy. In the start I used to play with him. Slowly, I picked up my pace and started motivating him by showing him movies of great people like Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh and others. I devoted my time to teach him. I prepared a time-table for both of us and stick to that till his board exams. I taught him mathematics, science, English, social science. Before teaching him, I used to read the study material first to make myself well aware about the subject. Against all’s expectations the boy cleared the board exam.

Hi!! I want to help a child as I can see him facing the harsh beats of my landlord, sometimes even it is so worst that they don't give him anything to eat. I tried a lot many ways to contact differeny organizations who can help him but so far is not able to get any help, I am in Chandigarh and in most of the houses I have seen that child labor is common thing over here. I belive CRY should take some action where people should understand what CHILD LABOR is..

Article Bihar tops schoolgirl drop-out rate By M Shamsur Rabb Khan So, Bihar tops again. This time in schoolgirls’ dropout chart. Last week, the Parliament was informed that the number of schoolgirls quitting class before crossing the secondary level is the highest in Bihar followed by West Bengal. While Bihar scored 85.36% up to class X and 79.62% up to class XII in dropout chart, West Bengal 84.44% of schoolgirls quit class before crossing the secondary level. In 1997-87, Bihar was on third place with 87.68% dropout rate of girl child compared to Rajasthan with 89.25% (top) followed by West Bengal with 88.7% in class I-X category though it led in the category of class I-VIII with 80.48% followed by West Bengal (71.11%) and Rajasthan (69.73%). Meghalaya, however, had the highest dropout rate for both male and female schoolchildren up to Class X. In comparison, Kerala showed the lowest dropout rate of 8.58% for both male and female students up to Class X. The state's dropout rate for the elementary level stood at just 9.54%. According to the 2003-04 data, the north-eastern state recorded 83.24% of its school children dropping out before passing the secondary stage. The number of out-of-school children has increased and is estimated to be over 100 million of whom 60% are girls. Of every 100 girls enrolled in Class I, there are only 40 who continue up to Class V, only 18 up to Class VIII, only 9 up to Class IX, and only one up to Class XII. The average dropout rate according to Education For All (EFA) assessment (2000) is 25.8%, the highest girl dropout rates, over 40%, being observed in Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. In the new millennium, there has been a great deal of buzz about India taking off as a "knowledge-based economy and society the dropout rate in schools continues to be "unacceptably high", especially the girl child. In 59 years of Independence, the socio-political system has failed miserably to ensure that at least a majority of children between the ages of 6 and 14 are in school. In practice, dropout rate in Indian primary, middle and high schools, particularly for girls, continues to be shamefully high, despite constitutional obligations on the part of the State. In fact, the responsibility rests with successive State and Central Governments. Education scenario, especially the girl child education in Bihar remains bleak because of the misrule of the successive governments. Although the literacy rate has nearly increased three times in the second half of the 20th century to about one-third of the state's population, Bihar still ranks low in literacy among Indian states. The rate for males is significantly higher than that for females. The state's general aim is to educate all children at least up to the age of 14. About 90% of those eligible are enrolled in the primary schools, but only a small proportion reach the secondary level, as economic necessity forces them to work. In April this year, the Patna High Court took exception to the deteriorating condition of the school education system of the state. The High Court asked the state government to file an affidavit detailing the present education scenario in Bihar. The directive of the Court was in response to a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by the Shiksha Bachao Andolan Samiti, New Delhi. The lawyer for the petitioners informed the single-judge bench of Justice Radha Mohan Prasad that about Rs 1,100 crore had come to Bihar under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) but this money could not be utilised. One of the major reasons for children being kept out-of-school was the lack of education of parents. The Public Report on Basic Education (popularly referred to as the PROBE report) sought to find reasons for both dropouts and never-enrolment of children in five states (Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar). The reasons for such high dropout rates among girls include: lack of lavatory facilities in schools, travel distance to school, lack of concerned and trained teachers, compulsion to work at home or to earn, etc. Social ethos aided and abetted with poverty also plays a major role in compelling the girls to discontinue education after a certain stage. Besides, high fee rates in public schools alienate the poor students to quit school, as government schools are seldom serious in providing quality education. Chances of dropping out are less if either parent has had at least "some education." States with low dropout rates are ones that made good strides in education and are the same ones ahead in socio-economic development and with better lifestyles to its people. A recent World Bank survey found that 25% of government primary school teachers in India are absent from work. Only 50% of teachers are actually engaged in the act of teaching while at work, according to the report. It is quite rare that a teacher actually shows up for class. The worst offender is Jharkhand (41.9%), followed by Bihar (37.8%) and Punjab (34.4%). This means that in Bihar if you want into a school randomly 37.8% of the teachers will be absent. Even higher pay perks for teachers in Bihar don’t help in skipping the school. Another vital reason is the low expenditure on infrastructure and more on salary. For example, Over 97% of the primary education budget of Rs 7200 crore goes towards salary of teachers and other staff. And only 3% i.e. 216 crore is allocated to cover other areas, which include school infrastructure, new schools, textbooks, and other sundry expenditures. In reply to another question, the Parliament was told that a report by the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration has showed that 9,292 government primary schools across 581 districts in the country had no teachers up to September 30, 2004. Also, the report showed that 121,728 primary schools in the country had only one teacher each. This is no less a mountainous hurdle in the way of retaining girls wit

Thank CRY for what you are doing for the children.I think that it should be made compulsory for every persons to spend a part of their income or atleast to give some kind of voluntary action in improving the condition of chiidren&to protect child rights.b'coz as humanbeings we all have responsibilities towards the people, the world & it is our duty also.If every humanbeing conbtributes,(even a little)-the total amount will be huge. And in this way we really can move steps forward to a beautiful future. ONCE AGAIN,THANK YOU CRY.

It is heartening to know that CRY is continuing its excellent work with children with emphasis on children's rights. With changing times, the focus of an organisation must change. CRY is proving to be an organisation with vision with its work on children's rights. However, I would like to state that they should not forsake their work with spreading education since this is the best way of being instruments of change.

I say,we should stand up together and work for the cause of the innocent childrens. We must see to it that they get education and their living standard improved. To rescue the children we must rescue their parents first, from their not-so educated mindset.Make them realize that making their children learn their art of living and making them go to work is not the best option for their children's future. We must make them understand how valuable education is in their childrens life. We must not,by any means, tolerate any form of child abuse. We must voice for the innocent children.

Neha Mishra
I completly agree with this artical n very strongly feels dat chlidren should not b a part of these reallty shows. These reallity shows have long shooting hours n the organisers put lots of drama to increase the TRP's which badly affects d chirldren's mind. I also feel dat a commision should b very shortly formed which daels with d sensor ship of TV shows. The high drama sequences in tv shows r making a very wrong impact on the people n not only children r getting affected but even its affecting adults. This is a serious issue n hope v quially find a better way of entertainment.

I believe childerens are our future and if we do not provide them with what they deserve we are creating a weak future for ourselves and for them too. Its is always said "As you sow so shall you reap'' If they are nurished with love, care, respect and their right for education, health, safety ....inturn we are securing ourselves. This for those who believe in saving for thier own children for their better life.....a better life is a result of strong society so SHARE ...share a day , share a thought , share a days' salary for this effort and you will see how beautuful society you develop for your family.

Hi, I just wanted to know whether CRY is involved in door to door donation collection campaign as I had a visit from the local CRY representative who was seeking donation in the name of building some schools. This was unheard of because to my knowledge, CRY is a facilitator and runs bridge schools and so I was a bit apprehensive. It will be good if this is clarified and hope it is not a hoax. Thanks, Neeraja

Labour’s loves lost There is no denying that child labour exists in India. We are one of the biggest players in the international fashion arena, a major exporter of apparel. With the opening out of markets, outsourcing of work has become easy. Buyers assign work to the domestic merchandiser who in turn assigns it to the karigars. The karigars, as daily wage-earners, are often the ones who insist that their children earn, even if they are only five or six. The government must understand that child labour will prevail till poverty exists, and education fails to reach all.

However happy I am, I don't enjoy the happiness when I see children running away from there childhood and I wonder how people say that there is GOD in every children...Every children has a right to laugh, play, celebrate, enjoy etc. Not only CRY for help. So CRY has taken a stand to make them happy and not cry...if this is for real in this fake and virtual world than I am ready to take a step ahead to whatever small or big difference I can make in, towards this initiative.

SIR, I WANT TO WORK FOR CHILDREN,THEIR EDUCATION,BY HELPING THEM AS I POSSIBLE.CHILDREN ARE THE PILLARS FOR TOMORROW'S NATION.(IN SAYING THEY R THE GOD & GOD'S FAVOURITE ALSO. BUT, SIR, I WANT TO ASK U 1 QUESTION THAT MOST OF CHILDREN FRM SLUM AREAS WANT TO WORK AND EARN BY DOING "MAJURI"(-IN HINDI).THEY HAVE PROBLEM OF ONE TIME FOOD.THEY SAID IF WE R IN THE SCHOOL WE R UNABLE TO EARN MONEY SO THAT WE CAN'T PROVIDE FOOD FOR OUR FAMILY & HIMSELF. SIR, CENT % THEIR FATHER ARE ALMOST DRINKERS & BY PROBLEM OF FOOD & DAILY NEEDS THEY R AVOIDING EDUCATION.ALSO,THEY R IN SUCH HABBITS LATER. SIR , MAIN PROBLEM IS DAILY NEEDS & DRINKING OUR BHARATAS ONE SIDE LEVEL IS GETING IN DANGER. SIR, I CONVINCE SOME OF THEM FOR EDUCATION FIRST BUT THEY R UNABLE BY THEIR CONDITIONAL FAMILY BACKGROUND.WHAT WE CAN DO FOR THEIR FOOD FIRST?WHAT WE HAVE TO DO BAN 100% ON DRINKING? IF WE R GETING WIN ON THESE 2 THINGS OUR BHARAT IS THE NO.1 DEVELOPE COUNTRY FRM THE WORLD.

No child will enjoy working. Children work so that they can survive. Their parents are not capable of feeding them. So if we do not allow them to work they are any how going to suffer as there wont be any income of resources. So we need to find a way out which is not very labourous as well as which offers them a reasonable income, along with some time for studies and play.

in my view everyone in this word hav a bad habit which involves use of money.so if everyone gives up all his/her only bad habits and save that much of money for needs of children, that will alone make a big diffrerence.suppose some1 is habitual of drinking and if he/she gives up drinking and use that much of money for charity, than it can be agr8 effort and also gud for his/her own health

In Mumbai, there are a lot of kids who beg. Some of them dont even know why they are doing something like this. The older beggars use the kids to beg as well. Small kids carrying even smaller children. A lot of kids beg near the Andheri Flyover and Chembur Flyover. If we stop these kids from begging, probably we can cut a part of this generation as future beggars. I dont mind doing something, but it will be beneficial if it is through an organization like CRY. Suggestions from all please.

PLIGHT OF CHILD LABOUR Where are the rights of the child?? silent are their reasons, silent is their pain, silent are their sorrows, but who is to be blamed, who will they question, who will they seek, their fathers, their mothers, or the man behind the street, or is he the one who stands besides them, the finger points at YOU and ME!

Children bring innocent charm and happiness to your lives! A child's heart if full of love , they are a gift from the almighty , and most importantly our future! - This is what a few out of the millions of indians feel( only the educated one's) what most indians specially the illeterate ones feel is that- children are a burden unless they earn for the family. well such a meek thinking! Perhaps what all can we expect from such a kind of a parent who himself is uneducated! a person who doesn't understand the meaning of 'education' can only discourage his child to study! what i feel is that govt. should take initiatives to reform the current education system and make it accessible to all ! i kn ow that the govt. has taken some steps, but why then so many malpractices exist! ??why people beleive in child marriages! untouchability!etc..??why people kill their girl child??why is there child labour?? Though the govt has banned these. but do you really think that people have stopped such practices?? If not the govt. i can give the answer to all these questions .... and the answer is that the main problem lies in implementation. policies have been passed but not implemented properly ..and WHY not implemented properly....??? Because of corruption......people are so corrupt that they can go to any extent for money.!! and why are they corrupt??? because they are uneducated...!! hence the root cause for all the problems lies in the education.which is mostly not accessible to all in India!! so i plead to all to encourage their children to study....After all they are our FUTURE!!!!

rituparna chaki
This is to say in union that "every child is special"....they deserve equal rights in every aspect of life. all of us should take this responsibility to take care of every deprived child of their rights.

I would like to bring out a point where i feel myself incapable of handling the problem and moreover i find myself totally lost as something wrong is happening in front of my eyes and factually im not able to stop it. it is the practice of inducing small novice girl into the flesh trade market. i dont know why whenever i go to some place be it ahmedabad, surat, hyderabad, bangalore or for that matter any city in our erstwhile nation which gives a lot of importance to its culture and traditions. i find teenage girls in the flesh trade. AND MY PROBLEM IS WHY THE HELL ARE WE STILL ACCEPTING IT AS IF IT IS OK. maybe they are forced to trade their bodies owing to their financial conditions or for that matter any damn thing. but, why only flesh trade is it because of the easy and hefty money. lakhs of tourists visit our nation over the year and trust me i feel most of them are coming here just because of our own government knowingly or unknowingly promotes sex tourism. now the major question is if we search and find out all these girls and try to get them out of flesh trade, what is their future? what will they do as they dont know anything other than satisfying their customers? what will the governement do for them or will the government do anything at all. i would like CRY to initiate steps to stop these practise of selling the bodies and if possible rehabilitate them back in the society, teach them something or the other by which they could support them financially, be it stitching, working as assistants or volunteers to rejuvenate our otherwise dormant society. this will help those ladies and in turn surely will add towards our economy and the wholesole development of nation. PLEASE PLEASE DONT MAKE OUR MIGHTY INDIA INTO ANOTHER AMSTERDAM

CRY should raise a public opinion on/against the Nithari case and try to reopen the case with the CBI giving a clean sheet to Pandher. I have been trying to do it in my own way, but CRY can make a bigger difference through its Public poll and other interventions, as you are an Institution. I am and will be with CRY for this initiative whole heartedly, I assure you. It is only unhuman if our country can get away with such a gruesome form of child abuse, as it involved children, communities, polticians, and the civil society in a big way. What more do we need in the name of violation of Child Rights, I ask myself, every day.

It is heartening to see that CRY is still trying to instill a smile in the face of the under privileged, whether the name is Child relief or Child right. But yes the name has more paradigm shift now, as CRY will now have to stand and educate the masses about the rights of the childrens. I know that there are many CRYians who want to devote their time but I found a bit surprised to note that CRY office is closed on Saturday and Sunday. There are hundreds of people who want to utilize their weekends for a noble cause, but the above constraint restricts them. I request the CRY authorities to conduct the volunteer workshops on the weekend and ensure that at least 50% of these volunteers put their sincere effort to make the DREAMS realizable. My best wishes for the CRY community.

It is a very noble task that CRY as an organization has undertaken. Apart from providing for the needy children, it is important to instill the feelings of self - respect, self-worthiness, pride and honour in the minds of young children. It is also important to impart the right kind of education and right outlook to children coz these form the basis of their attitudes, preferences, prejudices and charachters as future citizens. It is important that they learn to respect all religions, creeds, castes, languages, nationalities and human belings. All the best to CRY. I extend my full support to CRY in all its undertakings. Cheers for a better tomorrow.

I stay and work in Navi Mumbai. For many years , i have been contributing regularly to CRY. It pains me that everyday when i come to office, i come across street kids at traffic signals either seeking alms or doing odd jobs. Can you please do something about this? I see many kids at Vashi / Nerul traffic signals. If you have any suggestion, i will also try to take it to improve their lot. Thanks Srinivasan

I read all the opinions and am not satisfied.Yes people say this should be done and that should happen. But no one (including me) commits that "I WILL DO IT".This sholud be the aim of every individual who fears and loves God. Yes today i make a promise that when I will start earning I will send a share of it to CRY.For me it is not possible now but that day is not far when i will be able to do so.Secondly,I know that child labour is such a huge problem in our country. But there are other problems as well like global warming. All of us have a tendency to waste energy resources. If a fan is switched on or a tap is left open with water overflowing, how many of us care to switch the fan off or close water tap??? We think that why should we do it?It is not my job. Friends its time to wake up.Even if we can put a smallest drop it will surely turn one day int an ocean.God bless all the CRY partners and CRY organization.

I am against child labour and hate children begging on streets. I provide food those who beg me, instead of paying them the money value. Because to me, if they are given the required food, why do they beg.....? I request my friends to do the same as i do. May be in future let this situation vaish out of my country.

Childs are like childs, that is what we first have to understand. Its not about how can i help or how can you help them. Its about how we all see them comeing up from where they belong too. When any of them will come to you and ask you for some thing WHAT YOU WILL DO? Just ask yourself? How you are differing them from your own child? Just ask yourself?

Often we witness a terrible sight in the trains and on the railway platforms- Mothers sing along and the child is taught to follow her, stretching two tiny hands before every passenger. Children are the most innocent beings in the world. What they are taught to perform, they do! But is this the way to raise a family, forcing the child to beg????? Listen everybody..... In this world, there are only 3 sins- Begging Stealing and Prostitution To know it is a sin and yet provoking children to perform the sin is even a bigger sin!!!! And why not, any associated functions to the sin is a sin as well; meaning...... Begging being a sin, dropping coins to those who beg and thereby encouraging Beggary is a greater sin isnt it?? in place of coins...you could have well brought the child and its mother a cup of tea and a pack of vadas..... and of course..... if you could give in coins... would you be that poor as to not buy some food???Think!!! And if you think it is right...pleaseee..... stop encouraging beggary and give that to to the beggar, which we've learnt from school as the basic needs of man- Food, Clothing and Shelter!!! And i'm sure.....the beggar wont deny...n thus the term beggar can be removed from the indian Dictionary!!! Thankyou

saptarnab naskar
i am a regular commuter in the local trains of mumbai since last two years after i have come to live here. very often i see children in groups of two or three coming up and begging. its not that those children are disabled, they are like normal children with all the capabilities. why cant these children be diverted to education rather than leaving them in this sorry state to become into a proffessional beggar of tomorrow?? there are many possibilities thats driving these children towards beggary. we need to know the causes and work to divert these students to schools rather than trains. i have heard about "sarv shiksha abhiyan" by the government. if the education is actually free then why are these future citizens heading toward darkness???... i think we should at first make these little children realise the value of education so that they dream big and not of becoming a beggar and thats when it would be possible to make these people go to school because it seems that they enjoy begging nowadays rather than working hard for anything.

CHILD LABOUR IS THE WORST CASE PREVAILING IN THE 21ST CENTURY .THE REASON BEHIND IS NOT THE CRUELTY OF SOCIETY BUT THE GREED OF THEIR PARENTS . A 10YR GIRL WAS MY HOMEMADE FEW DAYS BACK .SHE HAD ALL COMFORTS HERE .WE WERE NEVER CRUEL TO HER BUT ONE DAY HER FATHER CAME AND TOOK HER HOME BUT NOT TO TEACH HER .WE USE TO PAY HER RS200 BUT HER FATHER WANTED RS 500 IN RETURN OF THAT SHE WOULD DO ALL YHE HOUSEHOLD WORK.HE HAS BIG FAMILY AND 2 MORE YOUNGER CHILDREN AND THEY TOO WORK AS DOMESTIC LABOUR . NOW WHAT WILL YOU TELL THIS ? OUR IRRESPONSIBILITY OR PARENT'S GREED ?

Hi there, I am a dedicated child advocate and feel that is so important to educate our children and for them to have their rights and needs met. These are basic rights that every child should be afforded such as education, nutrition-clean water and we often take them for granted. once i saw a small girl not more than 15 years of age carrying a baby abt 1 year or less, in the train. she was begging with that baby. adn i was shocked on looking to the baby. he was just skin adn bone, i felt like crying. these people live in the slums near the station of nerul. the adults have numerous children and leave them to beg not even caring for their food and clothing i think. they themselves dont work, and eat with the begged money. i really feel sorry for these street children, leave aside education, they cant even get a proper meal and dress. my heart cries for them. and once, in teh same station, i saw a lady beating a little boy not more than 8 years because he was busy playing and refused to go into the train for begging. she beat him mercilessly adn the child finally had to go in the train adn beg for her. and also, child rapes are on teh rise, which makes me doubt if really human beings are the supreme creation of God. i feel ashamed that i belong to this category. i was better an animal if human beings are like this.

This is not any personal experience with any child. this reflects my opinion on the contradiction that i see...... On one hand, CRY needs the zeal....the anger within oneself to work with CRY...on the other hand for a minutest post they want 3-5 years of experience. Is experience is everything????? If our ability, our knowlledge, above all our willingness to work is not given due identity...how is it that we are told to give the same to others!!! Isn't this perception need to change?? Sorry, if shared something irrelevant...but we do need to think on these lines in order to change the society at large.

Well...I am 22yrs old, and I work for a Private Organization in Kolkata. This is the first time I actually got a chance to go through the CRY website, and get to know the actual work you are linked with. I must say its a magnanimous and at the same time splendid work that CRY has initiated. I strongly believe that children are the backbone of any nation as they eventually shape its future. Without their proper upbringing, it becomes a major hurdle to the nation's progress. Besides that, the deprivation that children face today is completely unjust, as they are human beings too. Lots of people like me, may harbor the same opinoin, but as we all know, it goes completely waste untill you voice it. Its feels really great to know, that CRY has made that very thing possible. I personally, would be pleased to get linked up with such an organization in any way possible. Kindly let me know, if I can help your cause with the skills I possess. I would be glad to send you my profile if you may ask. Last but not the least, I wish CRY lots of good luck for everything they do in the future, as the "project" they have undertaken can actually change the very sceanrio of child rights in this country for the better. Thank you.

A child's innocence moved me, his interest intrigued me and his yearning to learn, left me speechless. One hot afternoon when i stood out in my balcony, i noticed a small boy, not more than 6 years of age smiling to himself. His father, who seemed to be a construction worker had given him a new play thing. A tiny water squirter. He ran around excitedly showing it off to his friends and then filled it with water. I expected this to be followed by peals of laughter. Instead there was silence. the boy adorned a look of stern concentration on his face. He aimed the squirts of water on the sand covered ground and with precision etched out the letters of the alphabet in perfect order! Running about only to refill his squirter from time to time. It was this precise incident that made me realise that children are keen to learn and rightfully so. I would like to congratulate your organisation for fighting for their rights, the tiny boy's rights.

in my opinion CRY is losing a lot of money that could come its way just because it has fixed a certain limit of donation. a minimum amount should not be prevailing in such organisations. since the representatives of CRY visit houses in working hours mostly the come accross home makers who cannot, mostly, donate huge amounts. therefore is the minimum level is eliminated may be the can donate atleast a meagre amount like Rs.100. such amounts may add up to help atleast 20 children every year. it is advisable to list a minimum amount for business organisations but not when households are visited.

Child Rights!Ifeel children must be protected till the stage, to learn what is right and what is wrong. what is right or wrong varies for people.various castes are in India, people,"s manner and custom differ. It is a modern India, still people believe in Tradition.A person is not civilised, if he does'nt believe in Tradition. Parents should inculcate the value of educationand inspire them to believeTradition.it goes with outsaying Tradition vary. All people are not the same .It is for parents to decide what rights the childrenmust have.

Being a teacher is one of the most gratifying and satisfying jobs, more so if you are with the primary level kids.It pains me to see the amount of pressure the kids have to face day in and day out.The pareants goad them to perform and expect them to excel in whatever they do.When will these so called well-meaning adults realize that each child has different abilities and likes. Now the situation is becoming worse with ministers trying to gain an upper hand over each other by implementing baseless tests that will overburden the tender kids. What we need is sincere efforts on their part to think about the kids at their level.CRY, as an organisation is doing so much for the kids it is time teachers come forward to assist them in this venture.Together we can work and creat miracles instead of just cyursing the darkness let us spread light.

Children are the first and most lovely gifts of God!A gift,so delicate...like wet cement-whatever falls on them leaves an impression!!A seed, that needs to be nutured to grow into steady oaks!!When a child gives a smile,no matter what mood u r in,every dictator will reciprocate!coz, their sweetness lies in thier smiles......When a child is crying, anyone would run up to the kid n say"What happened?dont cry my dear",coz thier feelings , emotions and pain lies in their cries......When a child grows up,all elders cherish his childhood, coz u dont know what one shall grow up to be....but when u r a child, u r solely a child.....when you r with a child,u never know how time passes.....instead u'll wish u cud pluck out the needles of ur clock.......think,when u talk to a child....aren't u too communicating like the child???we can conclude....that it is through a child u live life. What life wud it be if u were straight born as a man??Think!.......surely where there are children ,there is life..................as long as u live,be with them....so that they may be with u!!!

Hi everyone! I really feel that people at CRY are doing commendable work for a nobel cause. But the fact remains that we just can't afford to remian a mere spectator. Its time that we all realize our responsibilies and be a part of this mission. As the CRY pledge rightly says that we will have to fight for children's rights with all our resources, will and heart because we can and they can't. When we look into a child's eyes, we expect to see hope, trust and innocence but when these signs of childhood are replaced by fear, hunger and betrayal, we need to take serious stock of ourselves and the society we have created. Everyday is a new beginning and with this let us all, you and me, take a pledge that we are always with CRY.

It is indeed a privilege to be associated with an NGO such as CRY, which has put in its unstinted efforts for the upliftment of children in the society for the last so many years. T he name change to 'Child Rights and You' is the step in the right direction to make the organisational objectives all-encompassing and holistic across the fabric of the society. This also gives a clear vision to the organisation and supports in directly linking each one of us with its noble cause. As human beings, it is our prime duty to support such causes in whatever small way one could in order that we could make this world a better place to live in. Keep up the good work....support and assistance from all quarters will follow.

Nothing is more divine on this earth than humanity. And when it comes to humanity, CRY seems to be growing leaps and bounds for last 27 years. Its committment towards lending voice to the hapless and helpless children by making persistent efforts in generating funds and fighting for their rights is commendable. Hats off to Ripan Kapoor and CRY team for brining and raising such a movement to a platform that connects every sensible person world-across to lend their helping hands to make this world a better place for deprived children. I am also now committed to promote CRY in Philippines. Thanks, Sanjay Kumar Jha MBA-2007 Asian Institute of Management Makati City--Philippines-1260

I believe that an INDIVIDUAL can make a lot of DIFFERENCE-It is just a matter of ATTITUDE,ABILITY,SINCERITY AND SUSTAINED EFFORT!My focus has been to educate and inform people about the lives of the INTELLECTUALLY AND PHYSICALLY DISABLED CHILDREN-believe in the unique and versatile natures, talents;give them the DIGNITY DUE TO THEM AND SEE TO IT THAT LIFES'CHANCES DO NOT PASS THEM BY!WILL YOUR ORGANISATION PUT OUR SPECIAL KIDS/INDIVIDUALS ON YOUR PRIORITY LIST ?

India becoming a favorite tourist destination and it has also open doors to child hawks who wander around for quarry. Street children are often sexully abused and this is serious problem we need to address. So, let us join hands and save them from seeing this gruelsome moment, being etched in their memories and lives.

One song can spark a moment, One flower can wake a dream. One tree can start a forest, One bird can herald spring. One voice can speak with wisdom, One heart can know what's true, One life can make a difference, You see, it's up to you!

I want to see something positive and am still in dark. I have some questions, If there is really somthing happening for decades, Why can't I see that? May be I am wrong, But I can't see them happy, not at all. Is there somone to convince me about the situation?

Everyday as I went to college, I used to see a little girl sitting outside on the pavement. Pretty soon, I became friends with this little girl. I learnt that her name was Santoshi and that she was twelve years old. I found out that when her father died two years before, her family was uprooted from thier slum-home and were cast onto the roads. I also learnt that Santoshi, the eldest of five children was compelled to take care of her younger siblings while her mother worked as a labourer for a construction company. It is only a miracle that Santoshi herself has not been sent to work as yet. How can it be called fair that such children be compelled to live in such conditions while we sit so comfortably in our living rooms merely saying that things should be changed! It is our duty to stand up and fight for what we believe in! Save children from labour, illiteracy, domesitc violence, and poverty. Let children have the happy childhood that they desreve.

In my efforts to help poor children, I took part in a computer literarcy program organised by Rotary Club in 2004. At that point of time I was studying in my final year of computer engineering in pune. It was a very satisfying expirence that I could use my computer skills to educate the poor children who were less fortunate to aquire a good education. I hope to help in a similar way to the CRY in it's effort to help needy children.

www.cry.org is serving mainly for the urban areas. If it passed over to the rural areas, the sevice will be spreaded across the country. I felt this mainly on the child education. Thanks for giving opportunity to voice my opinion. Thanks, Venkata Krishnarao M

hello, it is amazinly gratifying to kno that so many people comin together for one noble cause is present in india where the statistics give a horrible picture of grief and gloom which the nations nxt gen.'the kids' have 2 face....whatever CRY is doing for da children is somthing of an awakening call for citizens of india 2 really fight for a very important cause which ultimately decides da nations future... eventho i live in a very small town the number of child labourers and child beggars is alarming and growing day by day...the plight of child beggars among the two deprieved sections is the worst...bcoz of people.s negligence and harshness.people never give them anything as alms bcoz they believe that whatever these children earn goes into da pockets of some shadowey don....it sounds ridiculosu but it,s true...these children move in groups and work in locations around colleges, busstands, train stations, temples and important streets.and it is starkingly clear how malnurished they are and in need of urgent medical attention..these kids can b found in age group as low 3-5,which is tremendously disheartening.and the more one sees them more one loses hope of being able to do anything 4 them. but havin checked out ur website one can believe that after there might b some hope for children like these found in millions throught this great nation v inhabit. i sincerely thank all of the people working for CRY and also those people who fight for this wonderful cause that is childrights.hats off to all of you.let there be a bright future for all the children in india.

Best of luck to CRY on their endeavour!!.i have been associated with CRY for the past 4 years. It has helped me as a volunteer change the way i look at issues of the world. There is no doubt about the impact it has had on several kids of our motherland.Organisations like CRY go a long way cos they work WITH the underprivleged more then they work FOR them. That is what makes CRY different.I am proud of associating myself with CRY which has helped me make a difference to my brothers and sisters of this nation!!..kudos to all behind the CRY team.

vishakha chakraborty
all the young members of the society who have enough resources at their disposal should contribute (in any way possible) in making the life of the under priveleged children of our society better.we are lucky that we have such resources and so its our duty to help those who are not so lucky...lets prevent their mass exploitation.Help them stand up and Who knows a genius may be hidden in one of them.
