Established in 1979, Child Rights and You (CRY) is the most trusted NGO that has been working towards creating happier childhoods for underprivileged children in India.
CRY works on child rights issues – child education, nutrition, healthcare, child marriage, and child labour – to ensure they have happy, healthy, and creative childhoods. It addresses children’s critical needs by working with project partners at the grassroots level to create sustainable change at all levels. CRY has a presence in 19 states; 80 districts in India which include Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Pune, and Chennai through its 102 projects.

At 472 million, children account for 40% of India’s population. While protecting children’s rights in India is a top government priority because it is incorporated in the constitution and covered by laws. Despite this, children in India continue to face challenges in exercising these rights, particularly their right to education, protection, survival, and participation.
