PRAAJAK as an organisation has made concerted efforts to take forward the coalition beyond the boundaries of Kolkata by focusing primarily in the districts, identifying organizations, civil society members, developing their capacities to look at child protection issues through the rights mode and work towards building a coalition. It made efforts to form and activate Child Protection Committees at the grassroots level / community. It has been working consistently to involve grass root organizations, CBO’s, the JJ system, Child line, Government machineries (both at the State and local level), Bodies of Control, Police, RPF, academicians and NGO’s to work on the issue of Child Protection. CCRP is focusing on ensuring the effective functioning of JJ system which is one of the focus areas of CRY’s goal. The coalition has also initiated work on the aspect of child abuse mainly the child sexual abuse and POCSO act.
