Sanlaap recognizes that trafficking is also done for exploitation of children in cheap and bonded labour, illegal adoption, forced marriages and organ trade, but the organization’s main focus has been working girl children and women exploited by the booming sex trafficking industry which is the third biggest illicit industry after drug and arms trafficking. Sanlaap has adopted a holistic approach starting from prevention to rehabilitation that is needed to combat trafficking of the children. At the source it strives to build strong preventive mechanism and for rescued children provides rehabilitation support. Sanlaap works in 8 Panchayats in 6 districts and 4 corporations in Kolkata in West Bengal.
