What we do

The prolonged closure of schools in the last couple of years has robbed millions of children of the opportunity to learn and develop many important life skills. Especially underprivileged children were deprived of necessary education, undoing much of the progress made in recent decades. This disruption took a toll on their mental health and trapped them in a cycle of abuse and exploitation. As per a recent World Bank study, learning poverty in India is expected to increase from 50% to 70% due to learning loss and more out-of-school children.

While schools are open for children with formal and structured learning but the coming years will be crucial for them. Therefore it is important to focus on providing the necessary support so that the children do not fall behind in their learning and drop out of school permanently.

To address the learning loss and help children restore their interest in school education, CRY has introduced the Child Adolescent Resource Centre which works towards –

  • Providing the necessary confidence to the children through academic bridge classes and psychosocial support.
  • Creating different collectives for children to provide necessary life skill sessions with children for overall mental and emotional development sports, theatre & art-based activities
  • Conducting awareness drives among parents and talking about the ill effects of dropping out of school, child marriage, labour, and trafficking
  • Following a class-appropriate curriculum with the help of qualified teachers and digital tablets through the Diksha app to create a better learning experience.

CRY aims to enable 1,00,000 children to reconnect with their school education, give them the necessary help to stay in school and empower them to re-imagine their future after the gap of two long years.

The future of an entire generation of children is at stake and your support can help these children come out of this critical situation to ensure learning continuity for them. Let us come together to help them fulfill their dreams and reach their truest potential.

Donate to CRY today to give underprivileged children a chance at a brighter future!
